Great Entertainment Continues at Depot Park in October


The City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department is pleased to announce the October lineup of “Events on the Promenade” at Depot Park, which is located at 200 SE Depot Ave. in Gainesville. Each Friday evening features a DJ from 7-9 p.m.; Saturday evenings feature live music from 7-9 p.m. and Sundays feature family-friendly, hands-on activities from 2-4 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and maybe a picnic to help them sit and relax. 

October's Schedule

Friday, Oct. 14, 3-5 p.m.

DJ E-LO adds to the afternoon’s enjoyment, bringing a skillful mix of your favorite songs. Audience members will enjoy this man and his music.

Friday, Oct. 14, 7-9 p.m.

DJ Josh Angel fills the air with beautiful music, bringing a digital memory full of your favorite songs. Audience members will enjoy meeting him and his music.

Saturday, Oct. 15, 7-9 p.m.

Bill Rogers and Friends will be on the stage by the grassy hill for some smooth jazz. One of the friends joining Rogers for the evening is local saxophone superstar Ben Greer.

Sunday, Oct. 16, 2-4 p.m.

One of Gainesville’s most beloved performers, B-Magic, Prestidigitator, arrives to teach kids a few magic tricks.

Friday, Oct. 21, 7-9 p.m.

Friday marks the return of DJ-ELO! Regular attendees know that he plays a mix of everyone’s favorite songs. He’s a great guy, and wants his fans to ask for what they would like to hear.

Saturday, Oct. 22, 7-9 p.m.

Jazz Bandits arrive in a group that is intent on stealing your heart with favorite ballads and swing tunes.

Sunday, Oct. 23, 2-4 p.m.

Puppet Magic returns with another workshop with puppeteer George Steven O’Brian. Children are encouraged to make their own puppets and have a lot of fun.

Friday, Oct. 28, 7-9 p.m.

South Beats DJ is the show name for longtime favorite Chad Angerhofer, who plays the songs you want to hear.

Saturday, Oct. 29, 7-9 p.m.

Hartley Leacock brings his horn and talented band, Collective Entertainment, to play smooth jazz into the quiet night for your entertainment.

Sunday, Oct. 30, 2-4 p.m.

Music and Arts Program for Youth concentrates on showing kids that they are capable of being musical/visual artists while they are having fun.
