Sweetwater Wetlands Park Celebrates National Public Lands Day with Free Entry
The City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs (PRCA) Department is celebrating National Public Lands Day by waiving all admission fees at Sweetwater Wetlands Park Saturday, Sept. 24. Guests are invited to enjoy the day at the park, which contains three miles of trails and boardwalks, and offers spectacular wildlife watching opportunities. Sweetwater Wetlands Park is not only a place to connect with nature; it is also a way to protect our environment.
National Public Lands Day was started in 1994 by three federal agencies and 700 volunteers, and has become a signature event of the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF). Through National Public Lands Day, NEEF works to connect people to public lands in their community, inspire environmental stewardship and encourage use of public lands for education, recreation and general health.
PRCA invites you to take this day to enjoy the great outdoors and celebrate the lands that give us so much. The park is located at 325 SW Williston Rd. For directions, a map can be viewed at https://goo.gl/maps/bK9YN.
