Spring into Sports with Adult Basketball, Volleyball and Softball Leagues


The City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department (PRCA) offers three fun options for team sports this spring: basketball, volleyball and softball. Gather together your coworkers and friends (age 18 years and older) for a season of comradery and fitness!

Have a group that’s ready for the court? Five-on-Five Adult Basketball is played Tuesday and Thursday evenings, starting March 7. The registration fee, which includes jerseys, is $150 per team. Don’t pass this by, because registration ends Monday, March 6. The season lasts eight-nine weeks. All leagues are coed, but there is no required ratio of men or women for teams.

Want to step up to the net? Adult Volleyball offers both competitive and recreational leagues for a fun eight-week season, starting Wednesday, March 8. Matches are played on Wednesday evenings. The registration fee is $150 per team. Be sure to register by Tuesday, March 7.

Adult Softball offers both coed and men's leagues. Each league has an estimated season of 12-13 weeks. The cost for each team is $194 for city residents and $290.25 for non-city residents. Registration closes Thursday, March 2.

Customers must register in person at Thomas Center, building B, which is located at 306 NE Sixth Ave., Monday-Thursday from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. The leagues are team registration only; individuals wishing to register should contact the program coordinator. All forms must be submitted before registration fee payment can be processed.
