Notice of Funding for ConnectFree Program for Affordable Rental Housing Projects
The City of Gainesville is seeking eligible applicants to participate in the ConnectFree Program to develop and/or rehabilitate affordable rental housing projects. The ConnectFree Program provides financial assistance for the development and/or rehabilitation of affordable rental housing projects, including but not limited to, projects that utilize the State Apartment Incentive Loan (SAIL) Program. To be eligible for financial assistance through the ConnectFree Program, the projects must meet certain program criteria such as providing rental housing units to low-income households, as well as demonstrating financial capacity to develop and manage the rental housing projects. Other eligibility criteria may apply, as determined by the city.
The city is accepting applications for ConnectFree funding for Affordable Rental Housing Projects Monday, Oct. 12-Monday, Oct. 19, 2020. Applications must be submitted by Monday, Oct.19 at 4 p.m. EST. Applications will be accepted only by email in the form of a full color PDF to email@example.com. Late applications will not be accepted, nor will applications submitted by mail or FAX.
All signatures within an application packet must be in blue ink, and all attachments must be titled and labeled. The city reserves the right to reject any and all applications.

Applicants for affordable rental housing project funding are required to present the project at a virtual meeting of the city’s State Housing Initiatives Partnership Affordable Housing Advisory Committee on Monday, Oct. 26, 2020 (meeting date is subject to change). Funding awards may be subject to approval by the City Commission, and are based on funding availability.
