Gainesville150! Music Legends Concert on April 13

The City of Gainesville presents a Gainesville150! anniversary concert Saturday, April 13 from 6-11:30 p.m. at Bo Diddley Plaza in downtown Gainesville. The concert features four bands that pay tribute to the music of Gainesville’s nine Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musicians; Bo Diddley, Stephen Stills, the Eagles and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, in addition to the headliner, The Bayjacks featuring Tom Leadon of Mudcrutch.

Food trucks, craft vendors, contests, roving street performers and Story Cycle — a unique, mobile-recording booth on a bicycle — will be on site, allowing residents the opportunity to record their Gainesville story for posterity.

The Gainesville150! Music Legends Concert is the first city-produced event in a year-long series of programs, workshops and activities commemorating the 150th anniversary of the city’s incorporation. Gainesville150! aims to observe a historic milestone while celebrating today and looking toward our shared future as a new American city.
