Citizens' Skate Park Facility Open
Skateboarders:  Come out and check out the new Skate Park facility located at Citizens' Park (1100 blk of NE 14 Street).  Consent Forms must be on file if you are under the age of 18.  Please complete attached form and turn to our office at 1024 NE 14 Street between the hours of 8am-5pm Mon.-Fri. to receive Pass. Overhead Banner Permits
Are you a not-for-profit organization within Alachua County, and have an up-coming event you want to advertise? If so you may want to take advantage of the City's Overhead Banner Program. Your organization can apply to have your banner hang at one of three City Wide Locations, University Avenue, Waldo Road, or SW 13th Street. Each banner can hang for a maximum of two weeks per site. Permit's for Park Usage
Do you have an upcoming large event such as an Employee Picnic, Fun Run, or Special Event and want to use one of the City Parks? If so please call our Administrative Office at 352-334-5067 to find out how to reserve the park you need. These Permits do not cover use of the recreation centers located in the parks. For information on how to go about renting a center please call 352-334-2189, to inquire about costs.

Free Taoist Tai Chi Class at Westside Recreation Center
A free Tai Chi class is offered every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 11:30am to 12:45pm at Westside Recreation Center, 1001 NW 34th Street. Classes are ongoing and participants can join anytime. Classes are taught by certified instructors from the Taoist Tai Chi Society. All levels welcome. For more information, please call (352) 334-2186. 
Event or Noise Permits
If you are planning an upcoming large event such as a march, parade, rally, concert or festival, that will take place at a public space, (public street, sidewalk, alley, park or other public building), you may need an Event Permit.  To find out, please call Allen Davis at Gainesville Police Deparment 352-334-2266 no less than 45 days prior to your event date. 
Karate/Judo Lessons
Chikarakogeki Karate and Judo Kai meets every Monday and Wednesday evening at the Thelma Boltin Center, 516 NE 2nd Avenue.
