The City of Gainesville offers employees financial security during retirement through:

A pension plan
with
contributions by the employee and the City that provides a lifetime benefit at retirement
with vesting after 5 years (10 years for Police and Fire). Full retirement eligibility
upon completion of 20 years of credited service, regardless of age.

DROP (Deferred Retirement Option Plan) provides added flexibility to your pension
plan.

Deferred compensation plan
that
allows voluntary employee contributions through a variety of investment vehicles with
pretax income. You may contribute up to 100% of your pretax pay, up to $12,000 per
year.
