The City of Gainesville invites members of the public to participate in a neighborhood workshop to discuss improvements for the Clarence R. Kelly Community Center on Monday, July 8 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Clarence R. Kelly Community Center (1701 NE 8th Avenue). Design options will be on display for the public to view and discuss. Light refreshments will be provided. 

Click here to view a map of event parking. This project is funded with the Wild Spaces & Public Places half-cent sales tax. The WSPP sales tax, collected from January 2017 to December 2024, will continue to create, improve and maintain parks and recreational facilities, and acquire and improve environmentally-sensitive lands.

Duval Park, which is located at 520 NE 21st St., will be closed beginning March 26 to complete the replacement of all of the boardwalks in the park. It is anticipated that the park will reopen in July 2019. During the construction, pedestrians are encouraged to use NE 25th St.

The City of Gainesville’s Wild Spaces & Public Places Department (WSPP) in conjunction with the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department will begin construction on two significant park improvement projects this March and are expected to be completed in fall 2019.

Interested residents may complete an online one question survey by selecting from a list of four options by the December 17 deadline.

Spurgeon Cherry “Westside” Pool’s 50th birthday and the completion of installation of geothermal heating and cooling pumps, which allows the pool to remain open year round.

The City of Gainesville Wild Spaces & Public Places (WSPP) and the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department (PRCA) invite you to participate in a neighborhood workshop to discuss the proposed redevelopment of Northside Park, located at 5701 NW 34th Blvd. The workshop is Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. in the Eloise Page meeting room at the Senior Recreation Center, which is located at 5701 NW 34th Blvd.
