The Thomas Center Galleries announce the opening of two exhibitions –ROOM WITH A VIEW and ROOM FOR REFLECTION – Photographs by Jan Zamojski to be presented in the Historic Thomas Center’s Mezzanine Gallery and in the Mary F. Prosen Room from Friday, May 8 to Saturday, June 20. An opening reception for the exhibitions will take place Thursday, May 7 from 5:30-7 p.m.

The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department and the Evergreen Cemetery Association of Gainesville, Inc. will host the association’s annual meeting at Evergreen Cemetery Sunday, April 26 at 1 p.m. This meeting is free and open to the public. The Evergreen Cemetery Association of Gainesville, Inc. will announce the Babyland Renewal Project.

The women’s locker room at Dwight H. Hunter (Northeast) Pool, located at 1100 NE 14th Street, will be closed from Monday, April 27, through Wednesday, April 29, for improvements to the showers. Female patrons will have access to the bathrooms and showers at the Martin Luther King Jr. Multipurpose Center, located next door to the pool. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Join a tradition of artistic excellence by submitting an artist application for the 34th Annual Downtown Festival & Art Show. Recognized as one of the top fine art shows in the country, the festival is sponsored by the City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department. On Saturday, Nov. 14, and Sunday, Nov. 15, more than 240 artists will display original oils and acrylics, vibrant watercolors, captivating sculptures, dazzling jewelry, decorative ceramics and vivid photography in historic downtown Gainesville. They will compete for $19,000 in cash prizes and purchase awards.
