Operation Letters to Santa
Santa knows good character is the best gift and he wants to hear about what that means to our community’s children! The City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department (PRCA) is collecting letters through Operation Letters to Santa this year for all children in kindergarten through third grade (or any child that still “believes”). This is a free program and is open to all Gainesville residents. Letters must be postmarked or received by Friday, Dec. 12, 2014. The PRCA “elves” will help Santa read and respond to each letter.
Letters to Santa can be dropped off at the following locations:
Clarence R. Kelly Community Center, 1700 NE 8th Ave.
Eastside Community Center, 2841 E University Ave.
Albert “Ray” Massey Recreation Center,1001 NW 34th St.
Porters Community Center, 512 SW 2nd Terr.
PRCA Administrative Office, 306 NE 6th Ave., Bldg. B, 3rd Flr.
No emails, please.
Letters can also be faxed to 352-334-3299 or mailed to:

Each letter should be no more than one page in length and should contain the child’s name, age, gender, mailing address (including ZIP code) and a statement about what good character means to him or her. Please note the department will not be distributing gifts. Santa enjoys reading actual letters written by children as he sips his hot cocoa by the fire at the North Pole.
