Participation Sought to Create Approach to Managing Gainesville’s Urban Forest
The City of Gainesville is starting an innovative approach to the management and conservation of trees and woodlands within its boundary. A clear understanding of how you feel about Your Urban Forest is critical for the successful development of a plan that meets the needs of City residents and businesses.
You can share your opinions and ideas for the sustainable future of your city’s urban forest through participation in a survey. The survey was developed in cooperation with the University of Florida IFAS School of Forest Resources and Conservation. It is open to residents of the City of Gainesville that are 18 years of age or older. It will take 10 minutes or less to complete and can be found at https://bit.ly/2GJAqw4.
Gainesville recently completed an Urban Forest Ecological Analysis (2017). The 2017 Analysis describes the forest, its health, physical condition and many of its values. It can be found at https://bit.ly/2BB05nn.
