Great Entertainment Continues in November at Depot Park

The City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department is pleased to announce the November lineup of Events on the Promenade at Depot Park, which is located at 200 SE Depot Ave., in Gainesville. Each Friday evening features a DJ from 7-9 p.m., Saturday evenings feature live music from 7-9 p.m. and Sundays feature family-friendly, hands-on activities from 2-4 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets and maybe a picnic to sit and relax. 

November's Schedule

Friday, Nov. 4,
7-9 p.m.

DJ E-LO returns, bringing a skillful mix of your favorite songs. If audience members don’t hear something they like, they are encouraged to make requests.

Saturday, Nov. 5,
7-9 p.m.

Join us for a Curtis Mayfield Tribute which coincides with the release of a biography about Mayfield, titled Traveling Soul: The Life of Curtis Mayfield by Travis Atria. It promises to be an excellent evening of classic Curtis Mayfield gems.

Sunday, Nov. 6,
2-4 p.m.

Joy Graham Miller, the much-loved art teacher, instructs children in making arts and crafts with recycled and other materials, which will all be provided.

Friday, Nov. 11,
6-8 p.m.

DJ E-LO returns again to play favorites for audience members.

Saturday, Nov. 12,
7-9 p.m.

Phillip “Jazzdad” Thomas and The Forever Miles Band celebrate Jazzdad’s birthday in a concert of R&B with a smooth jazz twist. Come enjoy an evening of great music and wish Jazzdad a happy birthday.

Sunday, Nov. 13,
2-4 p.m.

Music and Arts Program for Youth, an arts foundation with workshops that emphasizes the fun of art and community, returns with hands-on activities for the kids. Today, kids paint with washable paint. All materials will be provided.

3-5 p.m.

De Lions of Jah bring their excellent reggae sound to the park with a free concert!

Friday, Nov. 18,
6-8 p.m.

DJ Josh Angel fills the air with beautiful music, bringing a digital memory full of your favorite songs. Audience members will enjoy meeting the man and his music.

Saturday, Nov. 19,
7-9 p.m.

Dance on the promenade with Swing Theory. This great band will be on the stage by the promenade. It is your opportunity to dance, dance, dance.

Sunday, Nov. 20,
2-4 p.m.

Tiger Monkey Puppets by George O’Brien will run a workshop, teaching puppet making for all who are interested. All materials will be provided.

Friday, Nov. 25,
6-8 p.m.

This Friday marks the return of DJ E-LO! Regular attendees will know that he plays a mix of everyone’s favorite songs. He’s a great guy, and wants his fans to ask for what they would like to hear.

Saturday, Nov. 26,
7-9 p.m.

Gospel Meets Jazz features Lanard Perry, Ray Minter and friends who are here to show the exciting connections between these two great genres of music.

Sunday, Nov. 27,
2-4 p.m.

Tiger Monkey Puppets returns with another workshop led by puppeteer George O’Brien. Children are encouraged to make puppets for holiday gifts, and have a lot of fun.
