Workshops 1 & 2 hosted by the Office of Equal Opportunity and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
Workshop#1: “Accessing Capital-Getting Your Bank To Say Yes”
September 9, 2019 from 5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m.
This workshop focuses on accessing capital from a lender’s perspective. Attendees will learn various ways of financing their business, types of loans available, what is required to be eligible for a loan along with best practices and must do’s to get financed. Whether your business is a startup or existing, this information will improve the likelihood your banker says “APPROVED”.
Workshop#2: Financial Management: Projecting Cash Flow
September 16, 2019 from 5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m.
For every small business, “Cash Is King”. In this workshop, attendees will understand the difference between profit and cash, why a profitable business can go out of business, identify cash leaks, and how to project their business’ cash flow. By predicting cash flow a business can plan for future required financing before it’s needed.
Workshops 3 & 4 hosted by the Office of Equal Opportunity and the City of Gainesville’s Purchasing Department
Would you like to experience bid openings from a different perspective? Ever wonder what happens during a bid evaluation?
Join us for these exciting technical workshops where you as a potential vendors can obtain hands-on experience doing both.
In Session 1 -September 17 (5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m.) We will have a formal bid opening for an evaluated project. We will then distribute the bid responses and evaluation packets for you (the evaluator) to complete.
In Session 2 -September 24th (5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m.) We will hold the evaluation meeting to collect your scores, have a group discussion, and make a final award recommendation.
