City Commission Appoints Interim Equal Opportunity Director
On January 18, 2018, Bridget Lee, Ph.D. was appointed interim Equal Opportunity Director by the Gainesville City Commission. Dr. Lee recently served as Diversity and Inclusion Manager with the Office of Equal Opportunity and has been in this role since February 2017.
Prior to joining the Office of Equal Opportunity, Dr. Lee served as the Diversity Coordinator for the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC). Among her major responsibilities were planning, coordinating, conducting and managing a wide range of activities and projects related to diversity in both Human Resources and Purchasing. Prior to her role with OUC, Dr. Lee served as a Senior Management Analyst with the State of Florida’s Office of Supplier Diversity. She was responsible for a variety of activities in the office which included outreach, certification, compliance, and research. As a diversity professional with over 15 years of experience in Human Resources and Supplier Diversity, she serves as an advocate and subject matter professional in diversity for both contracting and human resources. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Management from Florida A&M University, a Master’s degree in Public Administration and Doctoral degree in Adult Education/Human Resource Development from Florida State University.
Dr. Lee is certified as a Professional in Supplier Diversity, a Senior Professional in Human Resources, a Master Compliance Administrator, and a Public Manager. She is also an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. along with several professional and civic organizations.
