New this year: A free physical will be offered Saturday, June 20 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the UF Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Institute, located at 3450 Hull Road. Please bring a printed copy of the Pop Warner Fitness and Medical History Form provided in the registration packet for your child to receive the physical. New uniforms that feature improved performance materials are also provided this year for both football and cheer.

Participants in football compete against peers of similar age and size. Pop Warner is the only youth football program that sets and enforces a strict age and weight matrix to help reduce the chance of injury. Pop Warner programs have no tryouts or cutting of players from team rosters.

Our cheerleading program teaches skill and discipline. All participants that meet Pop Warner’s scholastic requirements are accepted. Football and cheerleading participants that excel in the classroom may be eligible for Scholastic All-American recognition. Plus, cheerleaders will compete at the league level, and, if their squad advances, they will compete at the regional and national level. Our Gainesville Gator Midget cheer squad took first place at regionals and was the 2014 National Champions!

Parents can help out through board involvement and fundraising or coaching.
