Take Up the 2015 Gainesville Biathlon Challenge!
The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department is excited to announce the 2015 Gainesville Biathlon Challenge race schedule. If you want to test your athletic ability or set a new goal, this annual series of races are a fun and affordable choice!
The first 2015 Gainesville Biathlon Challenge will take place Saturday, April 25, at Dwight H. Hunter (Northeast) Pool, which is located at 1100 NE 14th St. The challenge is a series of six races consists of a 5K run and 800-meter swim, and continues until September. Races alternate between Northeast Pool and H. Spurgeon Cherry (Westside) Pool, 1001 NW 31st Drive. Race dates and locations are:
Don’t wait - sprint to enter! Register early and save money by signing up more than two days before the race. The entry fee for each race is only $17.50 for city residents and $23 for non-residents, when signing up more than two days before the race. After that time, the fees are $23 for city residents and $34.50 for non-residents. Proof of residency, a GRU bill or voter ID, is required at time of registration. The winning female and male athletes of each race will receive two free pool passes to use at any city pool. Take up the challenge - you never know what you can achieve until you try!
