Upcoming National Bike Month Events on May 29 and 31

Closeout Celebration - May 29: Join the City of Gainesville Public Works’ Ride & Stride Program for the closeout celebration of National Bike Month Thursday, May 29 from 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. in the courtyard outside  City Hall (200 E. University Ave.).
 
The celebration will have bicycle-related information, speakers and resources for the community. Groups in attendance include GPD; RTS; Solid Waste and Recycling; Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs; Health Street; the Ride & Stride Program and the Florida Pedestrian and Bicycling Safety Resource Center. Speakers include City Commissioner Lauren Poe and representatives from participating agencies.

Ride with the Commish - May 31: Join Commissioner Lauren Poe for a fun and educational ride around Gainesville. Bikers will look at Gainesville's biking infrastructure, including what works, what needs fixed and how we move forward. The ride is open to all and will be leisurely. The ride begins at 10 a.m. at City Hall (200 E. University Ave.) and will last approximately 1 1/2 hours. Pre-ride fueling at Volta Coffee at 9 a.m.
