2017-2018 Residential Parking Decals/Permits Available for Purchase Online Aug. 14


The Budget and Finance Department is notifying residents that residential neighborhood parking decals/permits will be available for purchase online beginning Monday, Aug. 14. Residents in the Controlled Vehicular Parking Zones will be able to purchase decals/permits online at by clicking on the “Online Services” tab and navigating to the "parking decals" link.

Students living in sorority and fraternity houses associated with the University of Florida may also purchase residential decals online, provided the official member lists are submitted from the University of Florida to the City of Gainesville.

The cost of parking decals/permits in Zones 1, 2, 5 and 10 is $105 and Zones 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 is $52.50 per decal/permit. The cost of a decal for property owners who have a homesteaded property are $21 for one year or $63 for three years. Residents should make their purchase at least one week before the decal grace period ends or before their current decal/permit expires.

Residents should note that the only grace period for 2017 is Saturday, July 15 through Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017. Residents are responsible for ensuring their vehicle(s) have a valid decal before the end of the grace period. During the grace period, parking enforcement will continue to issue citations for all other parking violations. After the grace period, any vehicle parked in a decal required zone without a valid parking decal will receive a parking citation.
