Great Entertainment Continues in June at Depot Park

The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department is pleased to announce the June lineup of Events on the Promenade at Depot Park, which is located at 200 SE Depot Ave., in Gainesville.

Friday evening features a family-friendly DJ from 7:30-9 p.m. Saturday evenings feature live music from 7-9 p.m. and Sundays feature hands-on arts activities from 2-4 p.m. in the kid’s area. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs, shade and blankets to sit and relax.

Friday, June 2
7:30-9 p.m.
Family-friendly dance party with DJ Dad gets everybody moving in time to the beat. Bring your friends, grab a bite to eat and hang out. There’s something for everyone to do and dance to.
Saturday, June 3
7-9 p.m.
Live On Stage at Depot Park presents Wax Wings. Weaving various threads of influence including folk-punk, jazz, honky-tonk and classical rock, this band will knock your socks off.  Musicians from Girl’s Rock Camp open the show.
Sunday, June 4
2-4 p.m.
Kid’s Arts and Crafts presents “Small Wonders” with George O’Brien and Gryphon Wulfkil. Creating and bringing puppets to life is fun for kids and adults alike! All materials are provided.
Friday, June 9
7:30-9 p.m.
Family-friendly dance party with DJ E-LO. Always a crowd favorite, he keeps both kids and adults moving and everyone will sleep well tonight!
Saturday, June 10
7-9 p.m.
Live On Stage at Depot Park presents Bill Rogers and Friends playing all your favorite pop and jazz classics. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to sit and chill on the hill.
Sunday, June 11
2-4 p.m.
Kid’s Arts and Crafts presents Music and Arts Program for Youth, an arts foundation with workshops that emphasize the fun of art and community. In today’s hands-on activity, kids create with washable paint. All materials are provided.
Friday, June 16
7:30-9 p.m.
Depot dance party as DJ South Beats fills the air with music, bringing a digital memory full of your favorite songs. Everybody dance now!
Saturday, June 17
7-9 p.m.
Live On Stage at Depot Park presents Dance on the Promenade with Swing Theory. Put on your swing dancing shoes and join us at sunset in the park for the most beautiful outdoor dancing around.
Sunday, June 18
2-4 p.m.
Kid’s Arts and Crafts brings the Repurpose Project Trash Princess back to create repurposed throwaways turned into art with an educational environmental story included. All materials are provided.
Friday, June 23
7:30-9 p.m.
Depot dance party! This Friday marks the return of DJ E-LO! Regular guests know he plays a mix of everyone’s favorite songs; kids and adults all dance along. It’s a fun sunset gathering and dancer’s paradise.
Saturday, June 24
7-9 p.m.
Live On Stage at Depot Park presents the Just Maybe duo playing a wide selection of songs from all styles for all tastes, including blues, R&B, country, rock and pop classics.
Sunday, June 25
2-4 p.m.
Kid’s Arts and Crafts presents Small Wonders with George O’Brien and Gryphon Wulfkil. Children of all ages tap into their imagination as they make puppets and bring them to life. All materials are provided.
Friday, June 30
7:30-9 p.m.
Depot dance party with DJ Dad gets everybody moving in time to the beat. Bring your friends and make new ones too. There’s something for everyone to do and dance to. Bubbles, music and sunsets make great memories.
