Charity Golf Scramble Helps Provide Scholarships for Youth Summer Camp Program

Fifty golfers teed off for a cause Friday, March 10 participating in the Gainesville Arts & Parks Foundation (GAP) 2nd Annual Charity Golf Scramble. The GAP Foundation announced that all of the proceeds from the 2nd Annual Charity Golf Scramble will go toward providing scholarships for the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Youth Summer Camp Program. Their generous support of the event will provide 100 youth summer camp scholarships for kids between six- and 13-years-old!

“These scholarships will greatly enhance and enrich the lives of our youth who otherwise would not have the opportunity to participate,” said tournament chair Susan Bottcher.

The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department (PRCA) hopes to continue to use the GAP Charity Golf Scramble as a way to give back to the community and they’re thankful to their sponsors who made the scramble an exciting and successful fundraiser.

The GAP Foundation, in collaboration with PRCA, will address disbursement of scholarships at a later date.
