Eighth Annual Gainesville Photography Contest Finalists Announced

The Communications Office is pleased to announce the finalists of the Eighth Annual Gainesville Photography Contest. A total of 24 finalists were selected from more than 230 submissions. Finalists include: Reflection by Michael Franklin, Hidden Spider by Michael Franklin, Menagerie in Motion Shark by Nicole Gilbo, Depot Park Splash Pad by Nicole Gilbo, Crazy Cats by Kimber Greenwood, Bubble Bath by Kimber Greenwood, A Horse and the Girl That Loves Him by Kimber Greenwood, Early Morning on Newnans Lake by Howard Hall, Sunrise over Newnans Lake by Arie Havelaar, Arcane Angel by Arie Havelaar, Fritillary the Day Away by Carl Henriksen, Jr., Morning Dew by Carl Henriksen, Jr., Helix East by Carl Henriksen, Jr., Gator Spirit by Dev Lee, Sturm and Palm in the Sunshine State by Suzanna Mars, The Other Magic Kingdom by Suzanna Mars, In the Name of Science by Suzanna Mars, Neon Pawn by Marcela Martinez, Giving Light by Marcela Martinez, Gillig Army by William McCombie, An Evening at Kanapaha by William McCombie, Rowers by Diane Raum, Great Egret in Flight by Fred Wasmer and Who Says No Fall in Florida? by Afnan Zarief.

The photographs can also be viewed on the City of Gainesville's Facebook page at www.facebook.com/GainesvilleFL. The grand prize winner will be unveiled at the State of the City Address, held in January 2017.
