The amateur weekend starts at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 at Jonesville Park Disc Golf Course, which is located at 14080 NW 32nd Ave. The amateur weekend continues at 8 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 4 at Northside Park, which is located at 5701 NW 34th Blvd.
The pro/advanced weekend starts at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 at Northside Park and continues at 8 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 11 at Jonesville Park Disc Golf Course.
Each day, for each division, there will be two rounds of disc golf, with an hour break for lunch. Approximately 100 participants, as well as a large number of spectators, are expected to attend each weekend. Playing members and the public are invited to attend any or all of the four days of competition over the two weekends of the event.
The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department’s support will be formally recognized at the players’ meeting under the large pavilion at Northside Park on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 8:30 a.m.
For the past four years, the Chain Hawk Open has been a two-day event that allows disc golf players from all over the city, state and country to compete in a Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) sanctioned tournament. Due to high demand and continued growth of the disc golf community, the Gainesville Chain Hawks Disc Golf Club expanded this year’s tournament to span two weekends for the first time ever!
