Accreditation: GFR is an accredited agency under the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI). The agency's services were evaluated by a peer assessor team during July 2013 and the department was awarded accredited status on March 11th, 2014 and was re-accredited March 13th, 2019.
ISO PPC Classification: Most of Gainesville is a class 2 with some undeveloped areas being class 2X.

Fire and EMS Services Master Plan: In 2004, Alachua County contracted with ESCi to develop a master planning document for fire and emergency medical services in Gainesville and Alachua County; an updated was completed in 2012. The document is available through the County Manager's Office in the County Administration Building.
