Recycling Programs   Residential Curbside Program   Adopt-A-Street Program

 

The Solid Waste Division is responsible for coordinating the City's trash, yard waste and recycling programs as well as sponsoring environmentally-friendly cleanup projects in the Gainesville community and enforcement of the Solid Waste Code of Ordinances, Chapter 27, Article III, Sec. 71-88. 

The Solid Waste Division operates on a 4-day/10-hour work week.  Our days/hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 7 am to 6 pm.

 Announcements:

A new pilot program for e-scrap (electronics waste) collection has been implemented at curbside inside the city limits of Gainesville.  Read More

Textile materials can now be recycled at the Leveda Brown Environmental Park and Transfer Station and the Alachua County Collection Centers.  Read More

Emerald Waste Services  Issue Tracka web-based complaint tracking system, is now available.  Residents can enter a complaint on-line, receive an individual tracking number and track its progress until it has been resolved and closed.
