Employee Health Services

 

The Employee Health Services clinic is available to the City of Gainesville’s employees and retirees. Many free and low cost benefits are available to help reduce your out of pocket health care expenses. Open from 7 AM through 6 PM Monday through Thursday excluding holidays. Please call for appointments (334-5037).    Available to employees and retirees annually are 1 Free Health Panel, 1 Free PSA (additional lab testing is available at reduced pricing), free tetanus vaccines and free flu shots. Nursing staff are available to help with Blood pressure and Blood Sugar checks when an employee or retiree is concerned or by appointment for daily and weekly monitoring. A nurse practitioner is on-site and available to treat many non-emergency health conditions.  

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

Each month Employee Health Services will be hosting a seminar on a different health related topic.  Different Health Care Professionals will offer seminars and possible screenings on various topics of interest.  ProClub members may earn points for attending these events.  Contact EHS at 334-5037 for more information.

S.W.E.E.T.S Program

Sugar Control, Weight Control, Exercise Daily, Eating Better, Testing Regularly Diabetes Management Program If you or one of your dependents has been diagnosed as pre-diabetic or diabetic and you are on the City’s health plan, you may be interested in joining the SWEETS program.  Participation provides FREE monthly diabetic testing supplies, and waives the co-payment for generic medications used to treat diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.  Contact Employee Health Services for more information.
