Bulk Items

The City of Gainesville provides automatic bulk collection service to curbside residents along with their garbage pick-up.  Most items will be picked up with the garbage, however, bulk items that are too large will be picked up within a 24 hour period.  Residents still must call Customer Service, (352) 334-2330, by Tuesday at noon to schedule a "White Goods" pick-up.  For City Residents, White goods (washers, dryers, refrigerators, stoves, etc.) are always scheduled for Wednesday pickup.

The City and County have the same pick-up days which are Mon-Tues-Wed-Thurs, leaving Friday for days that are extended because of holidays.  This removes the trucks from our city streets on Saturday.  Check the new schedule map for your scheduled pick-up day.

A new pilot program for e-scrap (electronic waste) collection has been inplemented at curbside inside the city limits of Gainesville.  On a trial basis the City of Gainesville will be testing the concept of collecting e-scrap at curbside.  The procedure is the same as white goods which is to call 334-2330 and schedule for a Wednesday pickup.  Scheduling on line will be implemented in the near future.  Keep in mind that you can still recycle your old computer equipment by sending it back to the computer company when you purchase a new system.  For a list of vendors that will take old computers check the A-Z Recycling Source.

City of Gainesville curbside residents can also request "White Goods" pick-up service online by clicking on the link below:
