Foundations After School Program: To have a strong, sound structure you have to begin with a solid foundation. The Foundations After School Program, formally known as Gainesville Recreation After School Program (G.R.A.S.P.), aims to foster ethical values and teach academic and life skills for youth ages 6–13. Foundations focal point is the six pillars of character: respect, caring, trustworthiness, citizenship, fairness and responsibility. The pillars of character are taught in conjunction with physical activity and nutrition, science, social studies and life skill lessons in a fun format that keeps kids interested.
All children are welcome, pre-registration is required. Space is limited and is accepted on a first come first serve basis. You may register online or print the registration form and bring it to our Administrative Office. Transportation is not provided for this program. For additional information, please contact our Administrative Office by email or call us at 352-334-5067.
The after-school program focuses on giving children educational and recreational opportunities after the formal school day has ended. Participants will be involved in structured activties, such as tutoring, homework help, arts/crafts, recreation and sporting activites.
The department's goal is to provide your children with positive experiences through the assistance of our staff. Our staff have been selected for their ability to teach, their love of recreation, and their care for young people. The staff will present materials with a positive and encouraging approach.
