The Public Works Administration Building was officially opened to the public on November 18.  The public art was created by Florida artist Teresa Thompson to reflect the essence of public works. She was able to utilize metals from surplus traffic control boxes that were being switched out in conjunction with the upgrade of the traffic management system.  The building includes a green roof as well as many other LEED criteria.

The State of Florida Department of Transportation is resurfacing and reconstructing from Depot Avenue to Northwest 8th Avenue (1 mile), converting the four-lane roadway to two lanes with a center turn lane, bike lanes, on-street parking and mast arms at the signalized intersections.
