Downtown Parking
The downtown Gainesville area provides free time limited parking as well as metered and long term parking. Parking is available in front of and adjacent to most merchants and businesses

Lot 10 Permits - Now Available!
The City of Gainesville is now selling permits for downtown parking Lot 10. The lot is east of the Southwest Downtown Parking Garage, in the 200 block of SW 2nd Avenue, and features eighty-six regular parking spaces and three Americans with Disability Act accessible parking spaces. The permits for parking in Lot 10, hangtags, are available for purchase at the Southwest Downtown Parking Garage, 105 SW 3rd Street, (352) 334-2547. Parking Meter Operations
Parking Operations maintains and collects over 400 parking meters in the downtown area and university context area. The meters will accept US coins and Smart Cards currently.
SMART cards for payment at parking meters are available at the SW Downtown Parking Garage, 105 SW 3rd Street (across from Market Street Pub), Parking Operations Administrative Office. When purchasing your SMART card, you can place $10 increments, up to $100, on your card and you can add funds by refilling your card at the SW Downtown Parking Garage.
Located a meter malfunctioning or one not working? Call (352) 334-2559 and report the problem AND the meter number. We will check the meter within a timely manner and provide a return call to you if your contact information is left.
Regional Transit System
Park Once!! Use the Downtown Parking Garage as your one stop and then ride the bus or bike to alternative locations. Located with downtown, easy access along the SW 2nd Av corridor including the Innovation Hub, onto the University of Florida campus or north to the Gainesville Regional Airport - all connecting to where you want to go! So if you are having a hard time parking on campus or have several venues to visit while in town, let the Park Once system work for you and leave the driving to RTS!
