Gainesville’s Nature Operations Division has a wide variety of positions and projects to suit almost any taste. As a volunteer, you might find yourself roaming the trails assisting our biologists with a variety of environmental projects. If you enjoy children or like to impart knowledge then join our curriculum enrichment series. These programs enhance the education of thousands of elementary school students each year, and include plant and animal ecology, farm life, and Native American skills. Those who like to work with their hands may help tend our Heirloom Garden and Cash Crop field, or build and maintain interpretive exhibits, signs and Native American props.
Being a Nature Operations volunteer means you will be exposed to a variety of fun and fascinating endeavors. Being part of our volunteer “family” means being appreciated and needed. YOU can make a difference!
In short, volunteers are a very respected, honorary part of the Nature Operations team that make the difference in the quality of our local nature parks. Join us by filling out the intern/volunteer application today or write to Nature Volunteering: Nature Volunteering@cityofgainesville.org!
