Gainesville Fire Rescue has been saving lives and property since 1882. The department's 132 firefighters and 15 emergency vehicles respond to over 15,000 calls a year including building fires, brush fires, vehicle crashes, emergency medical services, hazardous materials incidents, aircraft rescues and natural disasters.

Fire Assessment Information: On July 15th the City Commission approved the fire assessment. For more information on the fire assessment, please click here .
Property Owners who believe their buildings are a different size than what is indicated on their assessment notices can check the Alachua County Property Appraiser’s website by entering their parcel number or address and viewing their building footprint and square footage. If the “TOTAL” square footage still appears to be different than the actual building, please call 334-5088 for follow-up.
Fire Assessment Forms: Property oweners with fully protected, certified sprinkler systems may now submit thier fire flow mitigation credits by following the instructions on the form.
Property owners of mobile homer or RV parks with vacant spaces may also submit their applications at this time.
