City of Gainesville ISO Public Protection Classification Upgrade Effective Sept. 1, 2014

The Insurance Services Office completed their survey of the City of Gainesville's Fire Suppression Services and Water Supply System in early 2014.  We are pleased to report that the PPC was upgraded from a Class 3/9 to a Class 2/2x.  Most of the City's buildings are within 1000 feet of a fire hydrant and within five miles of a fire station.  Properties not meeting those criteria may be classified as 2x.  Check with your property insurer to confirm the classification for your property and to learn if this change could affect your premium amount with a possible reduction.  Read the letter from ISO to City Manager Russ Blackburn here.
