Organized in 1886, Gainesville Fire Rescue replaced horse-drawn pumpers in 1917 and became a fully-paid fire department in 1925.
ISO Fire Protection Classification
Gainesville's Fire Protection Classification Rating from the Insurance Services Office (ISO) for 2010 is Three/Nine (3/9). The nine rating only applies to undeveloped land not served by the hydrant system. The next scheduled ISO inspection will be in 2014.
