The City of Gainesville continues to monitor the track of Hurricane Dorian. Employees are encouraged to remain vigilant and prepared. The storm has slowed significantly and is expected to make a turn toward the north. System pressure has increased (good) and winds have decreased (also good). At this time, any potential for strong winds in our area is projected for late Tuesday and early Wednesday. Core emergency management personnel will meet tomorrow morning at which time we hope to have more information to make determinations about city operations for the rest of the week.
City operations remain closed for all non-essential personnel for Tuesday, Sept. 3. Staff is advised to keep in close contact with their direct supervisor.
