City Election Information

Qualifying Information

For information on qualifying, please contact the Clerk of the Commission office at 352-334-5015 or clerks@cityofgainesville.org. A qualifying packet must be picked up from the Clerk’s office, which is located on the first floor of City Hall (200 E. University Ave.). Qualifying for the 2018 city election is from noon Monday, Jan. 29, 2018 through noon Friday, Feb. 2, 2018.

Election Day

Election Day for the City of Gainesville election is Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Polling places are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Election Day. If needed, the runoff date is Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

Book Closing

Book Closing for this election is Feb. 19, 2018.

Races On The Ballot

Gainesville City Commission, District 1
Gainesville City Commission, At-Large District 1

The at-large races may be voted on by all registered voters living within Gainesville city limits. District races may be voted on by all registered voters living within that specific district.
