City Auditor & Staff


City Auditor’s Office Staff earn the COSO Internal Control Certificate badge which demonstrates knowledge of the 2013 COSO Internal Control-Integrated Framework. It demonstrates that the City Auditor’s Office staff have the ability to analyze key concepts related to designing, implementing, and assessing the effectiveness of a system of internal control.


Professional Staff 

Former Assistant City Auditor Eileen Marzak has been with the City of Gainesville since 1986. She retired in 2018, however quickly returned to the office as part-time. Prior to joining the City, Eileen spent eight years with small and regional public accounting firms providing tax, auditing and consulting services.  Eileen holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Florida and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). Professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA). Eileen is an active member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA). She currently serves as Secretary for the North Central Florida Chapter of the IIA and recently served as Team Leader for a peer review for ALGA. Information Technology Auditor Vincent Iovino joined the City of Gainesville in July 2019. Vincent has over 15 years of experience as an IT Audit Manager within the university and mortgage banking sectors where he performed audits in information systems, identity access management, network security, and business continuity. The combination of governance, risk and compliance guidelines drive Vincent’s audits in a systematic, disciplined approach to add value and improve operations. Vincent has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Computer Science and holds the ISACA certifications of Certified Information Systems Auditor and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control, respectively. Executive Assistant Ashley Morgan-Daniel joined the City of Gainesville in December 2018.  She has nine years of experience in administration at the University of Oxford - UK, the University of Florida, and Western Kentucky University.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Kentucky University and she also specialized in English at the University of Cambridge - UK.   Ashley may be emailed at morgandana1@cityofgainesville.org.
